Texas Land Conservancy (TLC) is a nationally accredited 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to the protection of land throughout Texas. You will work with a passionate and dedicated team to expand conservation efforts across the state. This team prides itself on collaboration, enthusiasm, and being the go-to organization for land conservation in Texas.
As a key representative of TLC, this position strengthens the organization’s connection with communities, partners, and supporters across Texas. This role drives engagement through strategic partnerships, dynamic events, and compelling communications that elevate TLC’s mission and showcase the importance of conservation. You will help shape how people experience and support TLC’s work—on preserves, in their communities, and online. This position reports to the Strategic Operations Director.
What you’ll be doing:
Landowner Outreach and Community Partnerships
Support the conservation program staff in implementing landowner outreach strategies, including workshops, presentations, and community events.
Identify and develop partnership opportunities with businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community groups to expand visibility and strengthen engagement.
Maintain and nurture existing partnerships to enhance resources and collaborative impact.
Volunteer Coordination
Help develop and support volunteer programs around priority preserves and projects.
Coordinate volunteer workdays across the state and ensure effective communication with participants.
Recruit, train, and retain volunteers through consistent engagement and recognition efforts.
Match volunteer interests and skills with program and project needs.
Communications and Outreach
Create and manage social media content, posting schedules, and engagement with followers.
Assist with email marketing and volunteer outreach campaigns.
Develop and maintain outreach materials for tabling, presentations, and events.
Plan and execute public and donor events—such as hikes, happy hours, and community gatherings—to increase visibility and connection to TLC’s mission.
Development and Fundraising Support
Assist in identifying and securing funding through grants, sponsorships, and donations.
Support fundraising campaigns, donor events, and communications in collaboration with the Development and Communications Associate.

You’re tech savvy and feel comfortable with social media platforms, Microsoft Office, Google products, and payment technology (like PayPal and Stripe).
You’re detail-oriented and enjoy working in a CRM database (like Little Green Light).
You’re familiar with what goes into planning and hosting a successful event.
You’re comfortable working remotely from home.
You’re available weekends and evenings as needed and can regularly travel throughout the state for events and meetings.
You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience or a bachelor's degree.
Compensation
$60,000-$65,000 depending on experience. Salary negotiable with advanced degree or greater experience.
TLC provides a 401(k) plan.
Enrollment in TLC’s health care plan is fully covered by the organization.
Each regular full-time employee receives 12 paid holidays, based on the federal calendar.
12 days of vacation per year for employees with less than one year of service.
TLC provides a $30/month stipend for employee cell phone use.
Travel expenses are reimbursed.
