Martin Luther King Jr., Day of Service at Malone Preserve

  • Vivian J. Malone Preserve - Texas Land Conservancy County Road 1109B Rio Vista, TX, 76093 United States (map)

Taking place each year on the third Monday in January, the Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service (MLK Day) is the only federal holiday that is also designated by Congress as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.” Participation in service activities has grown each year as more Americans are encouraged to provide meaningful change in their communities. Please join us as we work to improve the natural environment where we live and provided a place for more people to have access to nature.

We will be doing trail maintenance and habitat restoration at TLC’s Vivian J. Malone Preserve, a 145-acre nature preserve in Rio Vista, TX. No skills needed!

Please wear closed-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Families are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

RSVP so we'll know how many people to expect and can update you with any changes due to inclement weather.
